The Edith May project

The Edith May is an 86ft medium sized coasting barge. She is spritsail rigged and constructed of Pitch Pine on Oak. Originally built in 1906 for coastal trade carrying wheat and grain products, she also had a successful racing career before falling into sad disrepair during the 1990’s.

spacerPurchased by her current owner in 1999, an extensive programme of restoration has been undertaken, now approaching completion. She will be sailing during the 2010 season and we look forward to welcoming you aboard.
