Acoustic Architects , 29th Jan

The Acoustic Architects played aboard the Edith May on Saturday 29th January and gave everyone a cracking evenings entertainment.

Starting off with a few of their own songs, the audience soon became involved as the band dished out percussion instruments and encouraged everyone to list up words associated with the barge to help them write a song especially for the Edith May (see below for lyrics)!

We would like to say thank you to the band for an excellent night and we hoped all aboard enjoyed the evening. We look forward to the next night the Acoustic Architects play aboard.

Video footage of the band can be seen on our facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Edith-May-Trading-Company/293868044580

The ‘Edith May Song’

‘We set sail off from Halstow Dock
Sailing out aroung the clock,
Coming back with grain in stock,
Upon the Edith May!

Chorus –
Haul away boys, haul away,
There’s 66 tons of the Edith May!

Wilfred is the ships mascot,
The oyster catchers sail aloft,
Beer and cakes, we scoff the lot,
Upon the Edith May!

Chorus

In the evening sun we came upon,
Some seals down in ye olde Chathom,
In the coffin bunks we slept upon,
Upon the Edith May!

Chorus X 2
