Valentines Night, Sat 11th and Tues 14th Feb

The most romantic night of the year is fast approaching and the Edith May Trading Company are pleased to announce that, following last year’s greatly oversubscribed event, there will be two evenings available this year, on Saturday 11th and Tuesday 14th February.



New Carol Date – 14th December

All three of the original carol concerts have now sold out. However, do not fear if you missed out on tickets, as Dave Scott and his backing group have agreed to play another night – Wednesday 14th December. Hatches open at 1900hrs. Tickets are £7.50 and include a glass of mulled wine and minced pies. [...]



Christmas Carol Concerts

This December, the Edith May Trading Company is pleased to present three special evenings of Christmas carols. As well as the now traditional evening led by local lad Dave Scott and his merry musicians, there will be two other, very distinctive, evenings of festive fare.



Tea Room Reopening and Gigs…

With the nights drawing in, the barge will soon be laying up for the winter and assuming her alternative role as Tea Room and evening venue.

The Tea Room will now be open an extra day, Thursday to Sunday, providing even more opportunity to sample the delicious home made cake. Light lunches are also served throughout the day and the coal fire will be well stoked to keep the barge cosy.

The winter events schedule is now also coming together, with the Acoustic Architects welcomed back and playing aboard on Friday 28th October (Tickets £10, email or call to book) and quality folk band ‘Los Salvadores’ playing in early December.



Colne Barge Match 2011

Only a week on from Southend, the final match of the season was held on the River Colne, with the hotly contested Barge Championship now at stake.

Following Melissa’s win at Southend, Edith May found herself in 3rd place with Repertor right behind. Edme was leading and needing only to finish the match in the top three to secure her place. Points are awarded for starting first in class and fastest start overall, first to outer mark and for seamanship, as well as 3 points for a win, two for second and one point for third.



48th Southend Barge Match 2011

Bank holiday weekend saw the Edith May head across the Thames Estuary to Southend-on-Sea for the 48th sailing barge match.

The sail over on Saturday was punctuated with rainy squalls, typical bank holiday weather, but was enjoyable nonetheless.
